NoBan // NoWall Vigil

The Rohingya Muslim ethnic minority in Myanmar (Burma) have been described as “the most oppressed people on Earth” by the UN in 2016. Around 1.3 million Rohingya have been denied citizenship and stripped of all rights. Since the military crackdown on the Rohingya in late 2016, deaths have been reported in the hundreds, with even higher counts of violence and rape. Entire villages have been burned to the ground in Rakhine State. Join Abdul Malik Mujahid (Burma Task Force USA) & SLU Amnesty International as we investigate the situation in Myanmar that no one is talking about, and the steps we can take to help stop a modern-day genocide.

Speaker: Abdul Malik Mujahid, President, Sound Vision; Chair, Burma Task Force USA, Chair Emeritus of the Parliament of the World's Religions

Event Time: 6-7PM, Tuesday, April 4th
