Amnesty International Launches Day of Action to Repeal Trump’s Muslim Ban on March 7

March 7, 2017

Amnesty International USA will mobilize its 1.2 million members and supporters across the country today to oppose President Trump’s new executive order banning travelers from six majority-Muslim countries. Activists will be asked to contact their members of Congress to ask them to repeal the ban once and for all.

“This new order is nothing more than the same hate and fear in different packaging,” said Eric Ferrero of Amnesty International USA. “Our supporters will not stand by while anti-Muslim bigotry is written into policy. Too many people are living in fear and uncertainty because of this ban, and we cannot wait for the courts. Congress must repeal this hateful ban once and for all.”

In addition to making calls, Amnesty supporters will be able to share and distribute “Missing Senator” posters calling for their senators to publicly oppose the ban. The posters will appear as ads in locations near the Capitol in Washington, DC.
