In the social media era, marginalized communities are more at risk for experiencing online harassment from trolls, bots, and people who hide behind anonymity to express deeply violent views. Women in these communities are particularly at risk for receiving gendered vitriol. While the remedies are few, at Georgetown Law Center, we bring together experts and journalists who will provide insight and perspective on the legal, social, and political remedies for mollifying this abuse. Panelists include Karen Attiah of the Washington Post, Ian Harris of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, and Shirleen Mitchell founder of Digitalsistas.

The event is free and food will be provided.
