We are hosting a start up meeting on Saturday September 29th, 2018, with the goal of starting a new Columbus Local Group Chapter!

We are excited to invite you to join us to launch a new Amnesty International chapter in Columbus, Ohio!

Amnesty International Local Groups are community volunteers who come together, usually monthly, to learn about human rights issues, organize to raise public awareness on these issues in their communities and take action.

We hope you can join us for our first meeting and take part in this global movement of individuals who work to promote and protect human rights at home and abroad!

Date: Saturday, September 28, 2018

Location: Columbus Metropolitan Library, 1423 N High Street, Columbus OH ; Room 3

Time: 1:30 pm to 3 pm

This is a great way for you to become more active in Amnesty’s human rights work, and find out how you can make a difference both locally and globally. This is an organizational meeting to discuss areas of focus for the group, and an initial introduction to Amnesty International — its history and current work. We will also be taking actions on several of Amnesty’s current priorities, including the recent issue of Family separations/refugee and asylum cases in the United States.

If you plan to attend this meeting PLEASE RSVP to: [email protected]. If you cannot attend our first meeting, but are still interested in being a part of our new local group, or attending future meetings, please contact us at: [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you there! Please contact us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Laura Osborn-Coffey, Amnesty Area Coordinator
Ellie Henze, Student Activist Coordinator
