Amnesty International released a Feb. 1 report documenting the Israeli government’s ongoing human rights abuses against Palestinians. The core finding of this years-long research is that the Israeli authorities are committing the crime against humanity of apartheid, both in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (“OPT”) and in Israel, and against Palestinian refugees in other countries.

New Report Finds Israeli Authorities Are Committing Crime Against Humanity of Apartheid Against Palestinians in Israel and in the Occupied Palestinian Territories

The Israeli government is committing the crime against humanity of apartheid against Palestinians and must be held accountable, Amnesty International said today in a new report. The research details how the Israeli government enforces a system of oppression and domination against the Palestinian people wherever it has control over their rights. Crucially, this report finds that an apartheid system extends not only to Palestinians living in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), but also throughout Israel and to displaced refugees in other countries.

Yemen: US-made weapon used in air strike that killed scores in escalation of Saudi-led coalition attacks

The Saudi-led coalition used a precision-guided munition made in the United States in last week’s air strike on a detention center in Sa’adah, north-western Yemen, which, according to Doctors without Borders, killed at least 80 people and injured over 200, Amnesty International said today. Amnesty International verifies use of Pegasus spyware for surveillance of journalists in El Salvador

A joint investigation by Access Now and the Citizen Lab has identified the use of NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware against journalists and members of civil society organizations in El Salvador on a massive scale.
