Damini Satija is a human rights and public policy expert working on data and Artificial Intelligence issues. She focuses on government surveillance, algorithmic discrimination, welfare automation and applying an intersectional justice and equity oriented lens to interrogating tech. She is currently Head of the Algorithmic Accountability Lab, a multidisciplinary 7-person team researching the increasing use of algorithmic systems in welfare provision and social security, investigating their harms on marginalized communities around the world and advocating for effective human rights centered regulation of automation tools and AI.
