Ecuadorean/American human rights and environmental lawyer, he joins us most recently from the IACHR. Previously he worked for the Attorney General Office and the Ombudsperson Office of Ecuador. More recently he spent 5 years as a consultant for the Office of the Special Rapporteur for Economic, Social, Cultural, and Environmental Rights (REDESCA) of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. There he helped lead the environmental and human rights agenda of the Commission working with civil society, government officials of the 35 members states of the OAS, and other international organizations. Additionally, he teaches at GW Law and is part of several organizations that work on the intersection of environment, human rights, and development.
