Karla Gonzales Garcia, an immigrant Latina from Iquitos, Peru, is a passionate social justice advocate and activist. Karla has worked on the intersections of immigrant rights, economic justice, and reproductive justice in Colorado. Her work has focused on outreach, engagement and grassroots organizing, advocacy for and with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, education and advocacy for sexual and reproductive health, and advancing reproductive justice policy at the state and national level. She holds a Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies with certification in Women and Gender Studies, and currently serves as the Gender, Sexuality and Identity Director at AIUSA.
