Croft is Nationally Recognized Digital and Technology Strategist for Social Change

(NEW YORK) – Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) announced today that nationally renowned digital and technology strategist Cammie Croft has joined the organization as Chief Digital Officer. The new position is part of the executive team and will lead the grassroots human rights organization's efforts to utilize digital, technology and innovation in its campaign and advocacy initiatives. She is based in New York.
"Cammie's entrepreneurial spirit and innate understanding of how the digital landscape can affect social change will be key in helping us expand and serve our members who are at the forefront of human rights struggles around the world," said Stacey Bain, Amnesty International's Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.
For the past 13 years, Cammie has been using digital and technology tools to transform the way organizations, political campaigns, companies and the government engage with the public. She got her start as a community organizer working to protect the environment and prevent the war in Iraq. Her work has been featured in POLITICO, the Atlantic, TechPresident, O'Reilly Media, Seattle Times and others.
Most recently, Cammie served as Senior Advisor and Director of Digital Strategy and Communications at the U.S. Department of Energy where she established the first Office of Digital Strategy and transformed the Department's online presence into an award-winning program. Prior to joining the Energy Department, she was Deputy Director for New Media at the White House where she played a pivotal role in creating and shaping the White House's first New Media department.
