Bringing It Home: Amnesty International USA and Avaaz Hold Demonstration Outside White House Demanding Ceasefire in Gaza
Hundreds of white-shrouded body bags were thoughtfully laid in front of the White House on November 15th in a silent demonstration organized by Amnesty International USA and Avaaz, a global web movement bringing people-powered politics to decision-making everywhere. The body bags represented less than three percent of the more than 11,000 people killed in the occupied Gaza Strip and around 1,200 people killed in Israel since October 7, 2023. Staff and volunteers arranged the body bags in sizes representing adults, children and infants to create “families,” symbolizing the and the families of the more than who were killed in Gaza.…

Israel/Opt: Palestinian Lives In Peril As Israel Reinforces Apartheid      
Israeli authorities must dismantle the system of apartheid which is causing so much suffering and bloodshed, Amnesty International said today. Since the organization launched a major campaign against apartheid one year ago, Israeli forces have killed almost 220 Palestinians, including 35 in January 2023 alone. Unlawful killings help maintain Israel’s apartheid system and constitute crimes against humanity, as do other serious and ongoing violations by Israeli authorities such as administrative detention and forcible transfer.
